Gotcha4Life Founder Gus Worland recently returned from a two-week Hogs road trip with NSW Blues Captain Brad “Freddy” Fittler. The tour was an amazing opportunity to engage with high school students in regional NSW.

The team spoke to 2,600 students. Travelled more than 5,000km across 24 regional towns. Visited 13 high schools. Provided 6 free footy clinics and handed out 2,600 rugby league footballs.

During the presentations and footy clinics, Gus and Freddy spoke about how physical fitness is just as important as mental fitness and gave their top tips to nurturing this.

Here are Gus’s Recommendations:

  • Talk and communicate

  • Find your Gotcha4Life Mate to have meaningful conversations with outside of banter

  • Build a deeper level of chat with your friends, family and others in your community

  • Don’t worry alone

Here are Freddy’s Recommendations:

  • Get 8 hours of sleep

  • Make your bed in the morning

  • Have a glass of water first thing in the morning

  • Do something positive (e.g. walk the dog)

  • To calm yourself down, take 5 deep breaths through your stomach
