Raising a Handsome Sum for Mental Health
Jake Cohen
Brookvale local Jake Cohen has once again raised a handsome sum for mental health with his most recent fundraising initiative, the Bondi to Barrenjoey for Mental Health: Bigger and Better walk.
Taking place over two days from 26 - 27 February, Jake and 120 others walked throughout the 110km route, often in torrential rain.
Jake is well known to Gotcha4Life, regularly attending events and programs and associating himself with other foundation champions. We love that Jake takes action, and he is always checking in on his mates and improving his mental fitness. His humble nature and willingness to help others is one of his radiating qualities.
“It's amazing the support I had this year from so many people, with over 120 participants involved.”
Jake, with the help of his supporters, raised an incredible $32,000, which will be evenly split between Gotcha4Life and another mental health charity.
Jake’s fundraising for mental health journey started nine-and-a-half years ago when he held a charity dinner. Going into the event, he expected to raise $2,000 but raised $10,000 from the night. Since then, Jake has raised an incredible $108,000, which has all been put back into mental fitness programs.
To anyone considering running a fundraiser, Jake says, “Take that leap of faith. Whether it’s a fun run or a dinner, people will be willing to support you.”
