Building Mental Fitness in Penrith
Sean Hogan
He came to Gotcha4Life five years ago after watching our founder, Gus Worland, on the Man UP series talking about mental fitness with program partner, Tom Harkin. Sean’s son had lost a mate to suicide, and he wanted the tools to be able to help his son and his mates through the challenging time. It was the start of what is now a deep friendship and connection that Gotcha4Life has with Sean and the Penrith community.
Every year Sean supports his community by facilitating engaging workshops and educational programs to ensure that his village is breaking the ‘man code’, showing vulnerability and connecting when times are tough. Together with John Rix and the Penrith Rams AFL Club, every year he hosts an epic Sportsman’s Lunch at the Penrith Leagues Club.
Over the past five years Sean has raised over $288,000. The Penrith community have taken part in more than 300 programs and have a regular Walk & Talk group that meet weekly for a lap around the lake. A time to open up and stay connected.
